Friend with Tapioka

Hooo boy, my first critique...welp, anywho let me get onto it by first stating; bravo Ms. Clover, you did an utterly fantastic job with this and I simply adore it so.

The cool color scheme is beautifully contrasted by the bits of red scattered throughout your drawing, and very attention catching. More so, it's done in a way that provides a nice place to rest ones eyes and view the rest of the picture comfortably. Kudos to you for implementing that technique!

Speaking of a cool color scheme, I like the basic palate you included for this(the icy colors, I mean). With the bits of warm shades placed throughout the drawing, you really add a fantastic overall balance. Also, your utilization of white space is brilliantly done. Opting to use it as a border rather than simply filling it in or replacing it with something else was a great choice. A nice dose of 'simplistic' in comparison to the intricacy of his outfits' little details.

Now, onto your outfit choice. Welp...have I ever told you that you should be a designer of some sort? Because if not then let me say it now; you would have a plentiful career designing clothes. The outfits you manage to create are just...wow. Buuuut, I'm getting off track. My point with this is that I just downright adore the clothing you drew. From the loose blue scarf with that stunning webbing as a pattern to the beautiful chest piece, you balance it out expertly. The style is fresh and cute with a bit of an edge and is colored as greatly as ever.

Speaking of your skills in coloring and techniques, I find myself gaping in awe at how much talent you have and how exactly you utilize it. Your shading adds a more three dimensional touch to make the character seem less flat and more realistic, you put just the right amount of shadow into every piece of him and the general coloring itself is smooth and easy on the eye. You are steadily improving with every work you produce and it is noticeable to your viewers. I can't wait to see where you'll end up taking your skills!!

Now, as for a 'critique', I'd have to say that I would've liked to see more done with the tie, shading wise, and the shirt itself. More...depth, I suppose you could say. Please do not take this as me saying it is in any way bad, as it most assuredly is not. In fact, the design, as I said prior, is amazing.

I do so hope that I have not in any way, shape or form, offended you. With both the scoring and my comments on your art work. You did a fantastic job and you should be extremely proud! I can't wait to see more from you!!! <3
